Why did you close your studio space?
We closed our studio space due to the long
-term street construction on Eagle Rock Boulevard and the
traffic, parking problems, noise and pollution from it. The
construction made it impossible for us to provide a safe and
comfortable yoga studio environment. For the past three and
half years we worked to establish a yoga studio that our students
enjoyed. It became a storefront that enhanced the neighborhood
and provided positive services for the community. The current
street construction severely affected our business. As a small
business, we could not afford months of disruptions. We apologize
for the the abruptness of our closing but our business could
survive under these circumstances and without support from
the city or our landlords.

What is Yoga?
Hatha Yoga, which includes postures (asana) and breathing
exercises (pranayama), refers to the physical cleansing of
the inner body channels. The benefits of yoga on a physical
level include muscle tone and circulation, flexibility, and
strength. Other benefits include better concentration and
the learning of relaxation techniques to reduce stress. Yoga
also includes working with sacred sounds, meditation techniques
and developing an awareness of the energies through our daily
actions within communities.
What kind of Yoga do you teach?
Margaret "Saraswati" continues blending the Sivananda
tradition which emphasizes proper breathing, relaxation, exercise,
and meditation with her background in the performing arts
and women's spirituality rituals. She frequently draws on
her knowledge of ancient art, mythology, philosophy and cosmology
to create a unique experience according to student needs.
Beginning classes emphasize gentle stretches and full breaths.
Advanced classes encourage a deeper exploration of each posture
in a meditative state.
Private sessions are available by appointment.
Can I do Yoga?
Any age, any shape, any time! Part of yoga is becoming aware
of your own body's needs. Ask questions and discuss special
concerns with the teacher. |
